Missing or too low edge strips
The strip must visibly protrude above the future screed level. If it ends below, an acoustic bridge to the wall is created.
Impact sound insulation and edge strips decide on acoustics and heat — and disappear with the screed. The floor build-up is practically impossible to correct after that. That is why half an hour with a camera is worthwhile now.

Open joints weaken the insulation effect and can support the screed unevenly. This increases the risk of settlement and cracks.
The installed insulation boards must exactly match the planning. If the material is wrong, impact sound protection will be missing later or the build-up height will deviate.
There must be no debris or dirt under the insulation. Such unevenness causes voids where the future screed can crack.
The separation layer above the insulation keeps the water of the fresh screed on top. Cracks or open seams soak the insulation — it stays wet and insulates worse.
Photograph the complete floor build-up of every room from above.
Walk the walls and record whether the strip is continuous and sits high enough.
Take close-ups of open joints, board transitions and all pipe penetrations. This documents weak points through which screed water could penetrate later.
Measure the build-up height at doors. Photograph the tape measure and board imprint for comparison with the planning.
