Whether several trades are working at once or you find it hard to place the exact stage: do not get lost in technical detail. On your walk, focus on the shell and envelope areas that become most expensive once they are covered.

Connections between trades
Masonry to roof, window to facade, slab to wall: look out for open joints and loose membrane edges here. This is exactly where blame is shifted later.
Damaged prior work
Membranes, insulation or fresh connections damaged by the next trade belong in the record immediately with photo and location.

First ask for the schedule
Ask what will be poured or rendered in the next few days. This answer determines where you photograph today.
Only areas with cover-up risk
Go specifically where concrete, membrane or render follows tomorrow — do not photograph the whole site.
Every transition as overview and close-up
Photograph the spot first as an overview and then up close with a size reference (e.g. folding rule).
Note damage and open questions
A short list with damage, exact location and affected trade — this helps later when clarifying.
